PRICES
On
each page are guide prices for the examples shown. The prices for
wood finishes include surface finishing and waxing (but not
staining). MDF structures are priced excluding painting.
MATERIALS
Solid Hardwood
By far our
preferred material, but it isnt cheap - hardwood is now 10x the price
of mdf. All our hardwoods are from managed forests and the range
includes: OAK, CHERRY, BEECH, MAPLE, ASH & MERANTI (like mahogany).
Solid Pine or
Redwood
Good solid timber,
inexpensive & with an excellent grain & finish.
Hardwood Veneer
The range and
quality of veneers is outstanding, though more time- consuming to
build. We can match almost any timber in veneer.
MDF
It's
cheap cost, workability & sturdy properties make MDF suitable in
cases where the item is to be painted. We can rout or groove edges to
achieve almost any finish
FINISH
Wood Finishes
We have found the
most durable and pleasing finish is acheived by application of Danish
oil, natural shellac or finishing sealer and then several coats of wax,
although varnish occasionally has it's use. We can stain to match
any existing wood if required.
Painting
We quote
seperately for painting as it requires 3-4 visits to apply the primer+3
coats of acrylic vinyl, and can be expensive. Many people prefer
to use their own decorator or organise it themselves
INSTALLATION
Units are
assembled on-site from pre-cut materials. We need clear access to
the installation area & a 10x10 work area, preferably outside.
GUARANTEE
Every unit we
build is guaranteed for 10 years against defect based on
normal use.
